Anti-social behaviour
Anti-social behaviour or ASB as it's sometimes called, falls into three main categories: personal, nuisance, or environmental. We are committed to tackling all forms of anti-social behaviour efficiently and effectively.
We will support our customers to take action to reduce any anti-social behaviour they are experiencing, and where needed we will step in.
Anti-social behaviour can be defined as behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm, or distress to persons not of the same household as the person.
As we have previously mentioned, we are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour head on and we will not tolerate any of our customers being subjected to anti-social behaviour.
If you are experiencing or have witnessed anti-social behaviour, you should report it to us as the earliest opportunity. We have robust policies and procedures in place to be able to tackle anti-social behaviour and we want to ensure that the safety of our customers is paramount.
We have a number of ways in which you can report anti-social behaviour to us including on our website below, through our Customer Experience Team, on our customer portal and app, or through your Community Housing Officer.
The action taken very much depends on the type of anti-social behaviour you are experiencing or are witnessing. When we initially investigate your report, we will select the best option we feel will help to tackle to situation in hand.
We have a number of different tactics we can use without legal action needing to be taken, including installing noise monitoring equipment, mediation, acceptable behaviour contracts, and parenting contracts. If these don’t help to rectify the issue, we can take legal action. We will discuss all of these tactics with you once you have reported your anti-social behaviour case to us.
If you aren’t a Johnnie Johnson Housing customer, we still have a responsibility and duty of care to listen to your anti-social behaviour issue. We would probably recommend you also enlist the help of the relevant external agency, such as the police or local council to help rectify the problem.
