Many people lost their jobs, were furloughed, had reduced hours or pay cuts. Government support has been offered throughout the pandemic to reduce the negative financial impact on businesses and individuals.
Government support schemes are planned to end in September which will have a negative financial impact for many people across the UK.

pay your priority bills first (such as rent)
get regulated advice from an organisation that’s licensed to give it, e.g. StepChange
As a rule of thumb the free ones (StepChange, Citizens Advice, Christians Against Poverty, National Debtline) will give you much better advice than the ones who are looking to make money from you, albeit they might not do as much of the work for you.
