Steve commented:
‘Delivering innovative digital market-leading technology within the housing and telecare sector is a primary focus for me. Johnnie Johnson Housing is an ambitious and bold organisation that always strives to improve the lives of its customers. If I can contribute to the continued success of this organisation, by leading an exciting roadmap of change, then I see that as extremely rewarding.
‘I care passionately about providing excellent customer service and experience, through digital technology, which can enrich so many people’s lives. Personally, we all have experience of caring for and supporting elderly friends and relatives, so when thinking about what I could bring to the company and how that might benefit those I care about, it felt like a natural fit and a worthy incentive.’
Johnnie Johnson Housing’s recruiting panel were inspired by Steve’s passion for digital technology to support those who are most vulnerable.
Chief Executive, Yvonne Castle, who led the interview panel, said:
‘We had already embarked on the journey of digital transformation at Johnnie Johnson Housing when the Covid pandemic hit, which has really accelerated the requirement for digital within many companies.
‘As a society, the events over the last three months have really shown how important the technology is to people and businesses. Staying virtually connected to friends and family, working from home, delivering services without the need for human participation, are suddenly business as usual. As a result, we are seeing something of a digital revolution and Steve’s appointment couldn’t have been more timely. We have always had bold ambitions for digital transformation within our business and are delighted we have been able to attract an experienced digital leader like Steve to help us deliver that in record time. ’
