Residents at Tangmere Court wanted to give something back to the community and decided to hold their own Macmillan Coffee morning on Saturday 1st October. The event included a combination of home baked goods and donated cakes from residents.
Macmillan not only provides specialised health care for people who are dealing with cancer, but they also look at the social, emotional and practical impact that cancer can have on people’s lives. Macmillan campaigns to have better support and pastoral care for cancer patients.
Some of the activities on the day was a raffle and a ‘Name the Teddy’ game and raised a total sum of £310 on the day. The event was well attended with residents from Tangmere Court and Goodwood Lodge and family and friends dropping in. We are glad to hear that our residents had a nice time and that they donated generously. Perhaps this can inspire similar events across Johnnie Johnson Housing.
Pictured are Gail Brown and Andrea Gregory who worked really hard along with other residents in the planning and organisation of the event.
