Mitchell Close
Mitchell House is a secure and relaxed development for people 55 and over. It is situated on a quiet street in Gatley, close to the M60 and M56 motorway networks and is named after Reginald J Mitchell who was the designer of the spitfire. The development has 50 flats including 36 one-bedroom flats, 13 studio flats and one two-bedroom flat across three floors which can be accessed by a lift or stairs. Mitchel Close sits on the same street as Mitchell House and both share a private car park for residents. Michell House has a communal lounge and kitchen in the main building, as well as a communal laundry. There is also a quiet room which is great for reading in. There is a guest bedroom with two single beds, a tv and a private bathroom comprising a wet room with a shower, toilet, and sink. This room is available to rent for family and friends of residents. Regular activities are held in the communal lounge which vary depending upon the interests of our residents. Many residents have traditionally had strong links SSAFA and have organised charity fun days to fundraise for the cause. There are communal gardens all along the back of the development and behind that there is a lovely nature reserve. The development has staff on site Monday to Friday and residents have the added benefit of 24 hour access to Astraline's emergency call system for peace of mind. Gatley Village is less than a mile away and it's only a short drive/bus ride to Cheadle village where you will find all local amenities such as a doctor's office, a vet's, supermarkets and a Post Office.
